What is I680N Communications?

I680N Communications (I680N) is an Internet Service Provider (ISP). We provide premier-quality personal and business Internet connectivity solutions. We've been located in downtown Martinez, California since December 1999. Our corporate name is Andruss Computer Services, Inc.

What services does I680N offer?

We offer dial-up access, webhosting, forums, high-speed access for businesses, and a variety of business services, throughout California.

What is dial-up access?

Dial-up access is the simplest way to get connected to the Internet. You sign up over the telephone or on our website, setup your dial-up connection, plug your telephone line into your computer, enter your username and password, and connect to the Internet. The whole process takes only a few minutes. Once you're connected to the Internet you can use the world wide web and send and receive e-mail.

What else do I get with dial-up access from I680N?

I680N gives you a free e-mail box, a free webpage, and a free forum with every dial-up access account. Unlike many other dial-up providers, I680N provides pure Internet access with no banners and no restrictions.

How do I get my free e-mailboxes?

You automatically get one free e-mail box when you sign up for dial-up access. Your e-mail address will be your_username@i680n.com. Initial password for this account will be the same as for dial-up connection. Additional mailboxes can be created using our secure "My Homepage" customer-assistance server at https://cust.i680n.com. For authentication use your dial-up username and password.

How can I change my passwords?

You can change your dial-up and mail passwords using our secure "My Homepage" customer-assistance server at https://cust.i680n.com. For authentication use your dial-up username and password.

How do I get my free webpage?

Your free webpage is setup automatically when you establish your dial-up account. We will send you an e-mail with instructions on how to access your free webpage. The e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address you provide when you signup for your dial-up account. If you have no e-mail address when you signup just enter noemail@i680n.com and we will forward the e-mail with instructions to your new e-mail address so you can access it after you get connected.

What's a forum?

A forum is an online discussion site which you can use to create your own online community. Our forums are provided by Andruss Computer Services, Inc. using the newest and best forum technology available anywhere on the Internet. No other Internet Service Provider gives you a free forum with every dial-up access account.

How do I get my free forum?

We will send you an e-mail with instructions on how to setup your free forum. The e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address you provide when you signup for your dial-up account. If you have no e-mail address when you signup just enter noemail@i680n.com and we will forward the e-mail with instructions to your new e-mail address so you can access it after you get connected.

What's the difference between my free web page and webhosting?

Your free webpage is one page on the world wide web that you can use as your own personal home page, or for anything else you want as long as you comply with our Acceptable Use Policy. However, it's only one page, and you can't do much with one page. If you want an entire website, then you should sign up for our webhosting which starts at just $11.95 per month for up to 50 Megabytes of space.

How do I sign up for webhosting?

On our website at http://www.i680n.com/webhosting.html.

Do I have to have a dial-up account to get webhosting or a forum?

No, you can sign up for webhosting or a forum without a dial-up account. But a forum costs $9.95 per month, and you get a free forum with every dial-up account, so for just a little more you can get both a forum and a dial-up account.

When I dial in, it takes a long time for my session to be established. Is there anything I can do to make it faster?

How do I setup my e-mail program?

How do I change the way SPAM Filtering works?

SPAM Filtering may be controlled by visiting the Spam Management Options page. For authentication use your dial-up username and password.

On that page, you will find three values that you can manipulate.

  1. Your Spam Threshold(Default=5)
  2. Your Whitelist
  3. Your Blacklist

Your threshold controls how tolerant (in general) you are to SPAM. Lower values mean that you are less tolerant of SPAM, and higher values mean that you are more tolerant. A value of 5 represents a good starting point. At 5, most SPAM will be marked, and most non-SPAM email will be left "unmarked". At lower values, more SPAM will be marked, but also, more non-SPAM email (false positives) may be marked as well. A value of 99 will effectively turn of SPAM Marking.

Once your "Threshold" is set to your liking, you will find that some non-spam email from certain correspondents is consistently marked as SPAM. The addresses of these correspondents should be added to your "Whitelist". Email from addresses in your whitelist will be passed through un-marked, even if it looks very much like SPAM. Entries in your Whitelist must be complete email addresses (user@myfriend.com) or domain entries (@myfriend.com). The first form will leave un-marked all email from "user@myfriend.com". The second form will pass all email from the domain "myfriend.com" un-marked.

You will also find that some SPAM email from certain correspondents is consistently not marked as SPAM. The addresses of these correspondents should be added to your "Blacklist". Email from addresses in your blacklist will always be marked, even if it looks very much like innocent email. Entries in your Blacklist must be complete email addresses (user@spammer.com) or domain entries (@spammer.com). The first form will mark all email from "user@spammer.com". The second form will mark all email from the domain "spammer.com".
